Students in HKUST are smart. There are two groups of people: One has execellent ideas but no skills to accomplish it; One has exceptional skill and want to achieve some things beyond their studies. However, we can't see a P2P platform to match the two.
An idea is a starting point of a startup.
I think we need a "recruitment broad" it is not for recruiting pay job, but finding partners. Many initiators have brilliant business ideas, but they cannot find a team, an adequate manpower of same interests with talents needed to achieve the goals. There was a time that I want to make a movie and want some actors to join; Or I made a fantastic app but needed a designer to help with the graphics and UI... There can be a casual platform for students to raise their needs of people. People would be more willing to join these interests group.
Recruitment board would become a team forming platform. It can be where entrepreneurship starts, where team recruitment of students society take places. An idea pool can inspire even more ideas.
It can boost multidisciplinary collaboration, pooling expertises of different fields, bringing positive impact to the school and society. We can see a successful example of Kickstarter, a platform for matching fund pooling ideas and interested money. This recruitment board would be the Kickstarter targeting an earlier stage of concept realization.
