Smilfie - Win A Prize with A Level of Smile of Your Selfie.

After the Christmas Promotion Campaign and Chinese New Year Promotion Campaign using Affilix System, our team in VIV had further cooperation with MENARD Cosmetics Hong Kong. Smilfie is a newly launched business model laying the stepping stone of VIV's smart face recognition system service, Hohoemi. The Smilfie service covers setting up Smile Ranking system, keeping tracks of users, campaign, transaction and maintain databases, operation of a coupon and rewards systems, social media sharing execution and delivering campaign information to users.

A smile is the most influential power. By uploading a selfie of a smile, a Smilfie, the level of a smile is measured, and a score is given. People can compete with friends, family, and all other people, to reach the top of the leaderboard. Participants can get different prizes on their smile level. Facebook Connect was integrated into the service as each Smilfie was automatically uploaded to participant's timeline as to spread the effect and drive a viral effect. Participant also got more incentive as the score of a smile would be increased with the number of comments and likes on Facebook.

My Role as a Developer and Chief Designer

I am deeply involved in the Smilfie system development and execution. As the chief designer, I developed a wireframe, implementing the design all along to its promotion material and system display content, with close communication to the client side. Being the only Chinese speaker in the team, I was also in charge of copywriting in Chinese. I developed the slogan and taglines on the landing page and email marketing, too. After the launch of the system and landing page, I assisted in contacting bloggers and customers support.

I assisted with the maintenance of the system, which is developed in PHP and Laravel framework. After finishing the core system, I took up the role to develop the system on the front end, such as the UI, dialog box, legal statement page and SMO, in helped with Adjusting the calculation of smile rank with the Facebook connect, I listed up the tasks: for website visual communication and sentences, I amended the headers images and uploaded them to the server. I edited the banners, making use of better models. In Smilfie homepage, the dialogue box button was linked to the homepage and not picture. For autoreply email, I updated the design of the Get coupon image in the auto-reply email, revising the email content, code, and design. A button is an important element for conversion optimization, I edited and changed the button at the top page of Smilfie, adding Facebook share link. For marketing analysis, I set up Google Analytics and insert it. For SMO, I implemented the social media tag, developing the preview image, and description. What's more, I made the feature image based on the Facebook developer suggestion on posts sharing featured image. To abide the Facebook's sharing policy for the app, I added the alert sentence which is necessary for auto upload photo to users ' wall: If you do not share on Facebook, You are not applicable to Receive Rewards!
